CHANEL and its quilted bags needs no introduction, but there's a new addition to its stable that we needed a moment!

The ‘CHANEL 22’ bag is like a warm hug, oversized and generous, it envelopes its owner in an embrace of chicness. While it holds a few similarities to the classic silhouettes (see quilted, padded soft leather), its larger size reminds you of your shopping tote but amped up!

Ah, the ever-reliable tote bag - now in Chanel form and craft. This is a lifetime bag, one that will get you through your day, but it also comes at a time when most of what we're being offered are the micro bags which hold very little functionality.

Cue three young muses that front the new campaign, shot by duo Inez & Vinoodh who champion the versatility of the 22. 'Beautiful, timeless and practical! The inside of my bag always looks like I’ve stuffed my entire life in it, and so I love that this bag has space to carry... whatever your heart desires,” shares Lily-Rose Depp, one of the campaign faces.

It’s clear that Virginie Viard, CHANEL's Artistic Director, is inspired by women who lead busy, full lives, having now created collections that truly combine style, elegance but also practicality and function. 

“I have a lot of tote bags and I’m not really a purse girl - apart from formal events -so I’ll naturally gravitate towards a good-sized bag that can hold my computer, book, journal, emergency toiletries, camera as well as a scarf, hat, water bottle, etc...” says star of the updated Gossip Girl tv series Whitney Peak.
