May is conundrum central… It’s about the time of year we start seeking out inspiration in last year’s Spring/Summer wardrobe to find there’s only a handful of things we still love with fervour. Such dilemmas justify a rotation refresh.

The midi skirt is a key player in breathing new energy into this equation. A crinkled-satin number being our predilection this Spring 2019, by way of Rejina Pyo in zesty lime. Although it steers away from a 'safe' palette, the skirt makes for a solid starting point for many outfits for its complementary colourway.

The first finds companionship alongside one of our favourite trends for Spring/Summer… You guessed it, it’s tickled tie-dye! A medley of yellow, orange and green tones, Topshop’s mesh take on the nostalgic nineties staple nods to coastal surf vibes, while Weekday’s ecru bralette adds a new shapely dimension when layered over the tucked-in tee.

Elsewhere, looking to Rejina’s runway styling for a healthy bit of inspiration, we’re pairing the piece with a uniform-style, boxy fit shirt from Kwaidan Editions. In vista blue, the colour combination makes for a bold style move... But, still, we're pushing it further adding Prada’s pink and black calf leather belt bag into the mix to bring another pop-of colour to the table, all while synching the oversized shirt to lend more of a fitted form.

Meanwhile, we're drooling over silk-satin full looks for premium comfort and chic levels; Joseph’s ivory Lily top nails the brief up top for its contemporary loose fit that brings about a pared-back feel to the skirt. In lightweight cotton with discreet in-seam pockets, COS’ updated kimono rings in further chic points and serves as a lightweight trans-seasonal layer, while Fabrizio Viti’s floral appliqué leather clogs tie the look together with a playful and quirky yet feminine flourish.
