Fuchsia pink, poppy red, sunflower yellow, cactus green, iris blue… You’d be forgiven for assuming that we’re talking about a botanical garden in bloom rather than a Savile Row-esque suiting series – and yet, somehow, Racil Chalhoub succeeds in marrying the hothouse notes of the former with the ultimately traditional cut of the latter, inviting us all to wear the rainbow in a colourful continuation of numerous Le Smoking references that cropped up in her recent Tales of Obsidian outing.

We sat down with the buyer-turned-designer in her Knightsbridge apartment to get the colour behind her classic silhouettes – and determine precisely where her penchant for pack-a-punch palettes began.
