Because Magazine’s Little Black Book is far more than your average city guide. An insider directory to London, as seen through the eyes of our friends in fashion, beauty, fitness, food and the arts – all of them, experts in their fields – it’s your go-to Where’s Where for niche and noteworthy recommendations to help you navigate and use our Capital at its best. This week, Levi Palmer and Matthew Harding of palmer//harding prove precisely why they're the "Shirt Boys" with their top London laundrette...

"We’d always recommend A&Z Dry Cleaners on Old Street."

Where... Typically, we’ll cold-wash our shirts at home (to keep the vibrancy of the colour and the whites nice and bright for as long as possible), however when we don’t want to iron, then we’d always recommend A&Z Dry Cleaners on Old Street (98 Old Street, EC1V 9AY).

Why... They are always super speedy, so when we need a next day turnaround for a lot of cleaning, it has never been a problem.

Because… Shirting encompasses so many cultural and social references – be it white and blue collar, formalwear, romantic or authoritarian, masculine and feminine or androgynous – so it allows for an endless amount of adaptation in design. It's this timelessness that keeps a good shirt (by which we mean tight stitching and high-quality buttons) completely relevant.

Last September, ahead of their Spring/Sumer 2019 show at London Fashion Week, Levi Palmer and Matthew Harding – AKA the "Shirt Boys" – sat down with us to reveal exactly what it takes to create a brand with longevity, created around one core staple.

Long have we been fascinated by palmer//harding’s innovative pattern cutting and mastery of draping, so – when faced with who best to trust with our beloved cotton and linen separates – it’s no surprise that these boys were at the top of our list for the Little Black Book.
