The video for Kindness' new single, 'House', continues the Berlin based, English singer Adam Bainbridge's exploration of post-modernist meta music videos. Last single 'Gee Up', directed by Jack Latham, featured a mock behind the scenes of director's squabbling, runners' mild disdain of the music. 'House' continues ploughing the deconstructive field though; with Bainbridge teaching a quite adorable little boy about making music. It's so arch and knowing that he can barely keep a straight face, and is all the more enjoyable for it.

Var is something of a Danish hardcore supergroup, which is staggering seeing as its participants are only about twenty years old. Formed of Elias, from Iceage, who's debut record stunned, shocked and amazed in equal measure last year, and his friend Loke Rahbek from the band Sexdrome.

Var, Danish for Spring, shares all the intensity of their other groups, yet instead of incendiary, chest-thumping punk rock, they've turned their hand to dark waves of crumbling electronica and dystopian, romantic synthesizers; whilst Elias plaintively repeats 'In Your Arms' over and over, backed by a decaying, glitching, moody melody. It's surprisingly tender for a track that's the product of two groups known for their aggression rather than emotional complexity.

Taken from the upcoming LA Vampires by Octo Octo 12", 'Freedom 2k' is an aquatic slab of classic house, full of bubbling synth and the echoing vocals of Amanda Brown.
