I can't even begin to imagine the strange creative impulse that birthed Elliphant's 'In The Jungle'. It comes out the speakers in a barrage of polyrhythms, basically unintelligble vocals and wobbling basslines, and feels ever-so-close to collapsing in on itself when from no where in particular its saved by an extended pitch shifting siren breakdown of a chorus. Yep that's right. The chorus is a two note cycle of a blaring siren. Then when it feels like it's going to explode into some warm synthesizer melody in the second verse, it comes back at you with the siren-led chorus again.

Frankly, this should be terrible, but the debut track by Stockholm's Elliphant is in fact three minutes are thirty seconds of mental, uninhibited fun. Ignoring the rule book with its outdated notions of sense, decency and taste, Elliphant instead focus on creating something utterly joyful.
