All hail Mr Hare
Mr. Hare is a fairly unforgettable face, with his laid-back Jamaican charm and striking long Rastafarian dreads he is quite the character. And so are his shoes.
Having never had any professional training it was almost as if by chance that he became a men's footwear designer. It was only back in 2008 when Marc Hare found himself examining the shoes of the elderly gentleman, sitting beside him at a roadside tapas bar in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, that the brand Mr. Hare was born. Hare loved the man's shoes but thought he could even improve on their design. The rest as they say is history, and a lot of hard work. But the work has paid off and Mr. Hare now boasts the best international stockits, a shop in Mayfair and a strong allegiance of male fans including Robert Downey Jr and Tom Hardy, who can’t get enough of his dapper footwear.
This spring Mr. Hare has upped the ante and has created a line of soft leather shoes in a variety of vibrant hues for the summer months. The Arno collection, a line of soft leather espadrilles in a variety of jewel-like colours, is our favourite. Inspired by the River Arno that runs through the Tuscan landscape and past the Mr. Hare shoe factories in Empoli, the collection reflects the simple elegance of his surroundings. Made from a single layer of fine suede, the leather-soled espadrille is sleek, sophisticated and so light you’ll forget you’re wearing them.
Priced £240 the Arno collection is out now available at Mr. Hare’s shop in Mayfair and online at mrhare.com.
