    Boys On Film

“I greatly enjoy collaborations with other artists,” admits Kris van Assche: “it’s one of the great perks of my job!” So, when the time came for the Dior Homme Creative Director to work on his next film collaboration – last year he worked with Willy Vanderperre – the choice was easy; Bruce! “Bruce Weber has been one of the most influential figures in the world of fashion for the past thirty years and he’s particularly fascinating as he brings with him a very personal aesthetic”, he explains. “It made total sense to me to offer him a ‘carte blanche’.”

‘Carte blanche’ for Weber has characteristically resulted in an impressive cast of talented personalities filmed languidly and beautifully in Miami, the location for the latest Dior Homme boutique. And the cast? There’s Sergei Polunin, the Ukrainian ballet dancer who earlier this year stunned the art world by walking away from an illustrious career with the Royal Ballet (at 19 years old he became their youngest ever principal dancer), the accomplished English violinist Charlie Siem who has performed in front of Stephen Hawking and Lady Gaga. And then there’s the incredible violin prodigy, 12-year-old Claudius Agrippa who’s showing an equally impressive talent for sporting a suit! “Miami is my hometown,” says Weber, “and also the hometown of a great ballet company and orchestra and, last but not least, the hometown of the Miami Heat! I made this film with my love for classical music in mind and how, just sometimes, the wildness of the fourth quarter of a basketball game is like the giant leap of a ballet dancer!”

The unique film will be part of a permanent installation within the Miami Design District store. Only the fifth freestanding store in the United States (in addition to two in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles) the multi-dimensional space features the kind of sleek symmetry, luxe materials and tactile finishes synonymous with the brand and offers a signature mix of merchandise including ready-to-wear, accessories and fragrance. diormag.com

    Dan

Us Brits do smart like nobody else. Leaning against the balustrade at Somerset House, dressed head to toe in Reiss, Dan is the epitome of dapper British style. His grey double-breasted suit, with black tie and scarlet red handkerchief, casually poking out his jacket pocket, give a smart and sleek image. A purple spotted silk scarf adds colour and a touch of fun to this elegant attire.

    Because: What do you do?

Dan: I write for Idol magazine.

Have you been to any fashion parties?

Blow on the opening night and I went up to Kensington Roof Gardens for PPQ

    How are you feeling? Hungover?

Just had a quiet one last night, which was nice. I just had Chinese food and watched David Attenborough documentaries.

    LATOUCHE

From the silver Casio watch (which we reckon is either the TV remote or a calculator), to the artful feather in his pork pie hat La Touché isn't afraid of a bit of flair. And those coloured socks are the freshest way we've seen punched brogues worn in a while.

    Because: What do you do?

La Touché: I work for Individualism - it's an online menswear collective and I also teach environmental health during the week to uni and college students.

    Where are you from?

    South west london - Norbury.

    How old are you?

    I'm 21.

What was the last film you saw?

That is a really good question because I don't watch enough films ... I don't think I can actually remember!

Are you reading a book at the moment?

I do read books! The last book I read was Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

When was your last holiday and what was it?

New york - amazing! I went in december for a month for my 21st birthday and hopefully I'll be going again in September.

Have you got any hot tips for anyone visiting New York?

Soho ... anywhere - New York has a whole 'just get lost' thing going on.

When was the last time you cried or said I love you to someone?

The last time I cried was when I lost my mum at the age of 18.

    La Touché is wearing:

    Grenson shoes

    Pullens socks

    Topman Chinos

    Vans shirt

    Bailey hat

    Casio watch

    Eastpak bag
