Since it was founded in 2005 by Ali Hewson with the express purpose of doing high fashion in a more aware way, Edun has worked to aid communities in Africa torn apart by war, famine and disease. This season it introduces an T-shirt programme in partnership with H.E.A.L.S ("Health, Education, Arts, Literacy, Sport") which is based in Gulu in Northern Uganda. H.E.A.L.S is a non-profit organisation that helps those children affected by 25 years of civil war rebuild their country. When Jerome Dreyfuss started making women's bags in 2002, he gave them men's names, the idea being that having a dashing Johann or Richard (bag) on an independent woman's arm would show any flesh and blood man in her life where her priorities lay. As if we hadn't already noticed. Dreyfuss is now making recompense of sorts by designing his first bag collection tailored for men of the modern world.
