On Monday Diesel Black Gold revealed their AW11 menswear collection in Milan. This season Diesel digs deep into their rock heritage, with the collection heavily themed around military designs and the language of protest. The cavalry boots and fur lined hats, tease you with references from Tolstoy's War and Peace, yet are subtly balanced with elegant tailoring. Overall the collection is warming and reassuring, but manages to catch your attention with hints of bright colour and flamboyant prints. Diesels unique way of distressing is also strongly visible, with creases of age and dirt stains giving them a vintage quality. The collection as a whole conjures up images of dreamers and wanderers lead by poetry and music. It's the perfect combination of military and rock, with the signature Diesel distressed edge.
