A Market Full of Wonders
To celebrate the Photo London 2017 festival, Dover Street Market is hosting a series of installations, special products and book signings. Dover Street Market Photo London will become a fashion and imagery festival of its own – with everything from special editions of Jonathan Anderson’s books and a Juergen Teller mini shop selling the artist’s rare editions, to unique collector’s Fornasetti furniture with a Comme des Garçons all celebrating the art of photography.
These are our highlights from the DSM Photo London celebration launching today.
A printed white t-shirt has already become somewhat of a DSM signature. Whether it’s by Gosha Rubchinskiy with cyrillic writing or Palace, Rei Kawakubo’s retail universe has helped feed the rise of this wardrobe staple. On this occasion, Simone Rocha has created a Flowers and cars-printed capsule in collaboration with the photographer Jacob Lillis (£95). And Raf Simons T-shirts blended with Robert Mapplethorpe’s imagery (£280) will get their own exhibition space on the second floor.
Delfina Delettrez Insectomania (from £5,050)
Delfina Delettrez’s Insectomania brooches are handmade in her Roman atelier from rose, silver and freshwater pearls, quartz, black silver and tourmaline. You might worry these realistic-looking bugs will bite, but they add a bit of twisted humour to your classic evening dress look.
Molly Goddard Zine (£20)
Everyone knows London born-and-bred Molly Goddard has her own fan club of girls (and boys) fawning over her tulle smocks and candy-popping fashion. And now they have a fanzine to quench their thirst. Captured by Arthur Williams, the photobook consists of backstage photography at Goddard’s dinner party-themed show for autumn/winter 2017. This collectable piece is the perfect accessory to your oversized pink tulle dress.
Paul Smith x Martin Parr (from £50)
What do you get when you put together two creative minds with a distinctive sense of humour? Well, in the case of designer Paul Smith and photographer Martin Parr, it’s a capsule collection of ironic beachwear. Classic pieces like scarves and swimwear induce giggles when printed with Parr’s tourist-filled, light-hearted photography. Wear a pair of multi-coloured swim shorts (£110) with an oversized white shirt and a pair of buckled slippers for the ultimate faux-vacation spirit.
Dover Street Market Photo London is launching today, 18 May at DSM, 18-22 Haymarket, London SW1Y 4DG.
