A hop, skip and a jump away from hectic city streets, Hackney City Farm is a pastoral retreat for those wanting to escape the urban jungle. It’s a pleasant way to spend a sunny afternoon, with roosters running amuck at your heels, donkey pens to poke your head into, and beautiful gardens where you can plant your own rhubarb. The farm holds crafts, yoga and growing clubs to bring together the local community but on this day, Emily and Maria simply want to frolic and flâner amidst the greenery.

All shoes are equal but some are more equal than others. Maria wears statement-making gold Dorateymur boots and Emily goes sensibly utilitarian, wearing Hunter wellies in a delicious shade of raspberry. A shearling coat, a perfectly beaten-up leather jacket and cosy knitwear all carry the charm of farm life – but elevated at the hands of labels such as Joseph, Marques'Almeida and Barbara Casasola. There’s no better way to welcome the hot weather than dressing up and hanging outside by the barns and meadows. The finished look? Two babes in the city.
