Christmas shopping to spike during lunchtime 'golden hour'
Visa predicts its customers will spend more than £15,000 per second between 1pm and 2pm on Tuesday 23rd. The last minute lunchtime shopping "golden hour" is expected to be the busiest shopping peak of the year — even over events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Consumers are forecast to spend £1.3bn total tomorrow.

Meadham Kirchhoff to stay open
Despite the weekend buzz about Meadham Kirchhoff’s speculated closing, a spokesperson for the brand has confirmed the contrary. Ben Kirchhoff and Edward Meadham, are currently experiencing financial obstacles. However, they are still on the BFC’s London Fashion Week schedule as presenting their AW15 collection on Feb. 24.

Couture cancelled in Rome
AltaRoma has cancelled its couture showcase scheduled for early next year. Although the group usually hosts two annual fashion weeks in Rome, it can no longer afford both due to a lack of public funding. The showcase currently scheduled for July is still set to run as usual.

Giorgio Armani named special ambassador of Expo Milan 2015
A runway show celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Giorgio Armani brand will open Expo Milano on April 30. As the new special ambassador of the Universal Exhibition, Armani will also install a permanent exhibition of his work in the show’s space, a former Nestle factory.

Burberry Beauty Box opens in Asia
Burberry has opened its first Burberry Beauty Box store in Asia — Seoul, to be exact. The brand held an opening event Thursday night that was hosted by Suki Waterhouse, the current face of the label’s makeup campaign. Modeled after London’s flagship store, the new boutique relies heavily on digitized features like screens that allow customers to virtually “try-on” products.
