Designer de jour Simone Rocha is on her way up. Late last month she opened her first concession shop in London’s famous store Dover Street Market. So DSM gave Rocha a shop window to decorate however she pleased. Little did they know that she would bring the countryside of Ireland to London. Replicating the lane behind her house in Dublin, Rocha has created a natural oasis – a home away from home.

The exploration of adolescence is a common theme for Rocha who regularly draws inspiration from her teenage years. Her widely celebrated SS13 collection played with this idea, investigating the notion of the reluctant teen being forced to play grown-up. Oversized tailored jackets and crisp white shirts, paired with full skirts and dropped waist dresses, were interlaced with punchy notes of neon brights, perspex brogues and brilliant metallic leathers.

The Simone Rocha installation will run until the 11 February at Dover Street Market London. The SS13 collection will continue to be stocked in store after this date and online at doverstreetmarket.com.

Popcorn at the ready! Free People have made their very first short film. Titled Roshambo, it stars Christopher Abbott from Girls, and model slash actress Sheila Marquez. A touring band member Abbott bumps into Marquez on a Brooklyn street and a game of roshambo (rock, paper scissors to you and I) leads the pair on a romantic journey across the city. The five minute film is the first installment in a series of shorts that will launch throughout the year.

There are three very happy designers out there as recipients of the British Fashion Council's Fashion Forward support were announced today. Sponsored by eBay Fashion, the initiative promotes developing design talent in the capital, awarding three British womenswear designers the support to expand their businesses within London. The winners are: David Koma, Holly Fulton and Michael van der Ham.

The prestigious scheme awards a monetary prize and business support from the BFC, who will mentor the designers for the next two seasons starting from AW13, helping with their upcoming shows and collections.

The winners were chosen by a panel of industry veterans, including Paula Reed, Harvey Nichols, Osca Pinto and our very own Caroline Issa. Deserving winner, Holly Fulton shared her excitement, “It is projects such as Fashion Forward that enable UK designers to establish their businesses whilst fostering their creativity and I am thrilled my label has been chosen for this platform.”

The Fashion Forward winners will be at London Fashion Week in February where they will present their AW13 collections.
