We've watched the runways for weeks now as New York, London and
Milan designers offer up their vision for AW12 and Paris kicks off.
But it's not just what's happening on the catwalk that's keeping us
captivated. Photographer Sean Cunningham has been
snapping away backstage as models get ready, pull silly faces, and
play up to the camera. He's caught a glimpse of model life between
the swarms of make-up artists and hairdressers as they slip on the
first of many designer creations and the show begins.
Backstage in New York at Altuzarra, supermodel Julia
Stegner demonstrates why you wouldn't want to cross her in
a dark alley. Just shy of 6ft the girl can get those long limbs
high.
Discovered at Oktoberfest Julia's big break came in 2003, when
she opened the Yves Saint Laurent show. Just a few weeks later, she
was photographed by Steven Meisel for two consecutive Italian Vogue
covers. Not bad going for the girl from Munich nicknamed the bean
bar at school.

and model moments from the fashion capitals.
