Dior's ghostly wisp of a dress dances on the breeze. The plumes of light organza and blue rose print bend and twist, suspended by the air. This light-as-feather creation offers a terribly ladylike approach to spring.
It's as if Galliano's former right-hand man Bill Gaytten has spent the winter watching Doris Day films or imagining wholesome picnics in fields. Throughout the collection the heritage of the house was referenced with cuts echoing the 'New Look'. Cloche hats were pulled low over perfectly applied red lipstick and neat hair as all manner of pretty chiffon pieces and cinched waists appeared. But returning to the safely of what Dior does best has paid off. Elegance and prettiness will forever be timeless.
