You can't help but be cheerful slipping into bright rainbow colours, metallic pleats and lace from Christopher Kane's Resort 2012 collection.
But although it looks as if Kane's been referencing dancing clowns, rainbows and skittles, inspiration came from a more sinister place. Rummaging around on the internet, the designer stumbled upon nuclear test explosions from the seventies that left plumes of acid-bright chemicals drifting in the air.
Hankering for something natural, but bored of flowers, the billowing colours formed the basis for a collection of tailored suits, multicoloured knits and futuristic blazers and dresses.
With neon and silver aplenty embrace the glitz and go for an overload of shimmering splendor. Pair the dress with Miu Miu's pink and glitter boots and add pattern with polka dot tights from Wolford. Because if Christopher Kane has anything to do with it 2012 is going to be a bright year.
