    A message to you

The '60s saw Mr Freedom pioneering slogan t-shirts down the King's Road. By the '70s, Westwood's notorious 'SEX' t-shirt reigned. Come the 80's and Katherine Hamnett with her politically charged messages was the slogan t-shirt designer. The humble t-shirt was the way to send a message.

Now for 2011, slogans are appearing once more. Scrawled across the chest of this Mother of Pearl shirt are the words "Stay away from evil spirits" by the artist Keith Tyson. Some sound advice from Mr Tyson, whose print lends a rebellious energy to the grey silk.

In the bold spirit of the slogan tee, the patchwork denim from Junya Watanbe adds a shredded, undone cool to the polish of the gold Moschino earrings.

Everything about this look speaks of attitude. Wear with confidence and don't mince your words.

    A view from the top

They say that Londoners are a cold bunch. They'd give a fixed stare and hurriedly walk past damsels in distress or barge anyone who would dare to meander slowly down Oxford Street...well apparently not when it comes to 9ft tall models.

Decked out in Balenciaga's satin floral print number (bound to get you noticed without the extra inches) teamed with a Newbark clutch, Guess watch and Daisy jewellery she turns heads. Hitting the hotspots of the city, strange men plant kisses on her, a bemused couple hold her hands and street cleaners buff her shoes.

Against the zebra crossing's stark black and white and the classic red phone box she loiters in a dusty pink Designers Remix by Charlotte Eskildsen dress. Lily and Lionel and Daisy Knights bracelets are wrapped round her wrist.

Head and shoulders above the heads of the crowd, curious Londoners step out of the stereotype.

    Dance to the Balenciaga beat

Dance, dance, dance in the laser lights. Shimmy in Balenciaga's paisley silk shirt and Emilio Pucci skinny trousers.

Let the Charlotte Olympia shoes tap out the beat as the Mawi gold shakes to the rhythm. What would seemingly be a look for a proper grown up gal with it's neat front creased trousers and shirt goes retro with the '60s print. In the spirit of the decade of freedom we're breaking this look out of the boardroom and into the night.

Cristóbal Balenciaga, was once described by Christian Dior as "the master of all". He had a reputation as a brilliant and uncompromising couturier. Now, Nicolas Ghesquière's steering the house's collections into the future with a powerful creative force and an original voice. Under Ghesquière the label is sharp, street style French and a global brand.
