    ALEXANDER McQUEEN Tetris

Angular cubes of popping colour fall into place - this is colour blocking quite literally. The silky hot pink Alexander McQueen dress, Stella McCartney chain clutch and Isabel Marant trainers tumble hurriedly down.

Thought this is no outfit made for sitting on the sofa playing one of the greatest computer games ever made (yes, we mean Tetris). This is a fun blend of girly street style with its two buns, all animal ear like and socks with trainers. The exposed back of the dress injects a little sexiness and the shocking blue eye shadow stylishly breaks the rules of avoiding the shade for fear of full on '80's eyes. This is a look that deserves being shown off.

    The Swimsuit

Since Ursula Andress waded out of the shallows in Dr No the two piece reigned as sexy swimwear of choice. Long has the bikini been firmly associated with our notion of sexiness. The swimsuit was relegated to those who lacked liberation or pin up girls of the past.

But slinking out of the dark, moody lights stacked with weighty metals and sharp jewels of Maria Francesca Pepe and Kara Ross it's back and ushering in a more coy sexiness of its own.

The black silhouettes of Calvin Klein's strapless and halter neck suits amplify the curves. The Sumarie Couture cutout number draws attention to the contours of the female body and looks as if an over eager shark has taken a peek a boo chunk out of the side.

The swimsuit flatters and shapes, threatening to loosen the bikini's hold on the beach. It's the item to pack for cavorting on the sand this summer (and yes, it can finally be called that).

Pattern and print with DVF and Matthew Williamson

When it comes to colour and pattern most of us tend to only dabble in a little leopard print, a slick of red lipstick here and there or the odd pop of a bright shoe. And yes, we've seen the trend for colour blocking, but give most girls a bit of black and some leather and she'll do wonders with it.

But looking ahead to autumn/winter comfort zones are about to be forgotten. Prints are set to be vibrant, clashing and know nothing about restraint. Working this trend early is Matthew Williamson's graphic black and yellow top paired with Diane Von Furstenburg skirt. The Bulldozer necklace and bracelet throw a hint of brilliantly gaudy glamour into the mix. Be bold, get brave with your prints.

Thanked by women worldwide for creating the 'wrap' dress, running a multi million pound fashion empire and speaking out against controversial issues facing the industry, Diane Von Furstenberg has spent 30 influential years in the business.

A fellow lover of print, Matthew Williamson is a designer loved by many for his vibrant dresses. Graduating from Central St Martins in June 1994 with a BA in Fashion Design and Printed Textiles, Matthew's first job following graduation was a freelance design project with Marni. He was then employed by Monsoon & Accessorize and it was his trips to India that inspired his designer dreams.
