PROENZA IN THE JUNGLE

  • PROENZA IN THE JUNGLE

Chloe loves this… because this Proenza Schouler skirt adds a much needed touch of sparkle and tailoring to any outfit. Made from a cotton-blend tweed with lurex stitching and lined in black satin, it's just the right length to ensure you have a fun night out. Wear this with a pair of thigh high boots and a snug high neck cardigan.

Proenza Schouler's is the brainchild of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez who met at Parsons in New York in 1998 and in 2002 produced a graduate collection that was so well- received that its entire range was bought by Barneys. With a vast celebrity following including Gwyneth Paltrow and Julianne Moore, Proenza Schouler is best known for its impeccable tailoring and has recently expanded their company through collaborations with Giuseppe Zanotti and J Brand Jeans. The brand's name is a derivative of their mother's maiden names

Also featured here is the Meadham Kirchhoff tinsel embroidered cardigan embellished with an intricate floral patter on the front and back. The exquisite piece features an excessive amount of detailing as each novelty button is different ranging from cherries, to stars, to tiny little love hearts. It's subtle mint green colouring provides the perfect background for such a festive statement while its full-length sleeves and 100% Angora fabric keeps its wearer toasty and warm.

Coincidently this design duo also met at design school. Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff initially launched their womenswear collection with Fashion East after graduating from Central Saint Martins. Inspired by the "anything goes" British design attitude, the pair decided to produce their first show in London in 2006. Since then they have developed a distinctive gothic style and have received numerous nominations for their emerging talents at the British Fashion Awards. Stepping away from their darker aesthetic in recent collections, they have injected a vibrant pop of colour and in 2010 described their Autumn Winter collection as a girly concoction inspired by My Little Pony.
