Henrietta loves this… because the Danes vie only with the Dutch when it comes to the best bikes, and Copenhagen - regularly crowned one of the planet's best places to live - is possibly also the cycling capital of the world thanks to its picturesque pedestrian and peddler-friendly streets. When a very well-reputed local design company, therefore, puts out a two-wheeler, it's a fairly safe bet they know what they're doing.
This town bike, designed by Anne Lehmann, was conceived in answer to the question: "If Normann Copenhagen was a bicycle, what would it look like?" Lehmann decided it would look "like a classic man's bike with an urbane style and few surprising details, and a fifties-inspired lightness". The frame - not quite shiny, not quite matt, is in anthracite grey, set off just-so with a pea-green chain, saddle and handlebars. Good enough for girls too, certainly.
