    Experts' Desert Island List

When you're looking to stock up on the essentials, don't listen to the perky counter staff working on commission or your friend with the bottomless sack of unused products. Look to the experts who put products through their paces everyday - if they were stranded on a desert island with just one product, what would it be? What is their desert island disc of the beauty world?
Kay Montano, Makeup Artist: "I use Jurlique Loose Powder almost every single time I work! It's talc-free, super-finely-milled and the Rose scent is loved by everyone I use it on."

James Read, Tanning Expert: "I never go out without a bronzing spray in my bag - Model Co Tan Airbrush In A Can is amazing. Give it a quick spriz over the face and use it to highlight areas of the body, adding definition and tone to the skin."

George Northwood, Stylist at Josh Wood Atelier: "My all time favourite product is Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom. A tiny amount will smooth, moisturize and add shine when used as a finishing product, leaving the hair feeling weightless and healthy. It can also been used on wet hair - it will smooth any frizz and seal the hair in place. It's under £20, and a bottle lasts me around 6 months."

Nichola Joss, Skincare Expert: "My one firm favourite is a simple rose oil - Rose Skin Plus Booster
     - by MV organics. I keep one in the car, one on my bedside table, one in my kit bag for work...it's always with me. It's light, nourishing and comforting, a great product to use anytime of day or night. The texture is great for facial massage and makes skin immediately fresher, plumped up, nourished and radiant. It's also great for irritated skin, sores and blemishes and works well under your skincare creams. I love this oil."

Adam Reed, Co-Founder of Percy & Reed: "Byredo Fantastic Man Scent. It's noticeable, won't ever go out of fashion and it makes me feel amazing."

    Browse the Bobbi Brown archive

Back in 1991, makeup artist Bobbi Brown launched her 'Essentials' makeup collection into Bergdorf Goodman, a little niche line of products she dreamt up whilst working on various celebrity faces. It came to the UK via Harrods in 1994 and a year Bobbi later partnered with Estee Lauder to expand the business into the international powerhouse we know and love today. As she celebrates 20 years of her makeup line, Bobbi shares with us a selection of images from her archive.

"The launch of Bobbi Brown Essentials at Bergdorf Goodman in 1991 was iconic for me and I remember it like it was yesterday. I sometimes still can't believe how far the brand has come since that day."
