From October onwards, my skin is freaking out. Whether it's
'seasonal sensitivity', the attack of the central heating, the cold
winds or the extra wine, rich food and late nights,
it needs some expert help to get back on track. This year I
discovered the Oskia Spa in Covent Garden.
The attention to detail at the Oskia Spa at Good Vibes makes
this a totally sublime experience. With the beautiful (and unique)
wallpaper, stylish Daylesford glass and little extras like silver
twig spoons, warmed water mattresses, luxurious duvets and
beautiful candle-filled lanterns, it feels like getting a treatment
at home - if you lived in your dream home, that is.
The treatment itself uses London's Oskia Skincare range, which
combines nutritional supplements with topical products to address
cell health and skin ageing. I enjoyed the 75 minute Signature H2
Glow Facial (£95) with Abigail James - their star therapist - who
created the treatment menu with Oskia's founders. She used facial
massage and acupressure techniques, clearing pores with steamed
extraction, exfoliation and aromatic compresses. Products included
a passion fruit enzyme formulation, Swiss cress liposomes, rose oil
and an AHA mask to accelerate cellular renewal and hydrate into a
glow that required no topping of makeup. An added bonus was the
head and hand massage, followed by a bite of fresh passion fruit to
wake me up from my blissed-out haze. This is by far the best
treatment to combine style with serious substance - there are no
compromises, it hits every pleasure button going.
I'd also recommend trying the Oskia Bedtime Beauty Boost - a
great all-rounder night cream, with Oskia's signature dose of MSMs,
Swiss Apple Stem Cells and Milk Peptides to address any premature
ageing and related dehydration.
