Talia Byre Launches a Collectible Zine
Clothes to keep, stories to share, Talia's zine distills the soul of a collection.
Talia Byre doesn’t do spectacle but her brand gets under your skin regardless.
Since launching the label in 2020, Talia Lipkin-Connor quietly carved out a space for fashion that feels close-knit and character-driven, less runway and more salon show. Her collections favour the familiar over the flashy: thoughtful clothes inspired by the women around her, both past and present. From the eccentric personalities of her childhood to the steady hands in her studio today, it’s a world built on real people and real wardrobes, and now, the brand is getting its own printed chronicle.
The first edition spotlights the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2025 collection For Lily Byre, a soft-focus meditation on memory, rendered in lilac, blue and yellow. Inspired by a distant relative, Lily Byre, and shaped by reflections on school years, the collection was unveiled in February at Incubator Gallery on Chiltern Street. In true Talia fashion, the show was intimate and deliberate.
The zine distills that mood into paper form, collecting everything from moodboard ephemera, gestural backstage shots, and images of lookbook muse Lili Sumner, to the dreamlike paintings of artist Yuma Radne, whose work populated the gallery that day.
“We wanted to show the true behind-the-scenes of what was a really fun and great season,” says Talia. “The idea behind the zine is to archive the entire creative journey - something that’s often hidden behind the final product.”
Across the pages, a scrapbook of sorts captures the mess, joy, and momentum behind a finished collection, rather than polishing the process.
“There’s so much that goes into developing a collection,” Talia continues. “And with this zine, we’re beginning a tradition of documenting the development of the brand and its collections.” If the brand’s garments are for living in, this zine is for remembering how they came to be.
Launching today, Talia Byre’s debut zine marks the beginning of what the brand hopes will become an annual, collectible series chronicling the evolution of its collections. Available at Tenderbooks and online at taliabyre.com, the limited-edition print offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the creative heartbeat of the brand.
