This summer, an ocean-spanning collaboration brings together J.Crew’s timeless Americana and the poetic, sun-drenched world of Alighieri. The result? A capsule collection that feels like it’s been pulled straight from a dream, or perhaps a beach somewhere between Montauk and Marseille.

For Alighieri’s founder and creative director Rosh Mahtani, the starting point was a dive into J.Crew’s iconic 90s catalogues, those sun-bleached scenes of easy summer living. The collaboration reimagines that spirit through Alighieri’s distinct lens, where jewellery isn’t just adornment, but a talismanic extension of self. And now, for the first time, those unmistakable molten shapes are finding their way onto ready-to-wear. Think oversized white linen shirts punctuated with Alighieri’s signature golden buttons. And let’s be honest: is there anything more iconic than a sun-warmed body wrapped in linen, gold at the throat, and sand between your toes?

“I wanted this capsule to celebrate the magic of seaside adventures, a life unlocked at sea,” says Mahtani. And it does just that, offering everything you’d want to wear on a sun-drenched escape: nautical cord necklaces, medallions similar to little pieces of lost treasure, and breezy silhouettes built for salt-kissed afternoons.

Crafted in London’s Hatton Garden using ancient lost-wax casting, each piece carries the weight of a story. It’s classic Alighieri, rich in texture, meaning, and symbolism, but with a new twist, thanks to J.Crew’s distinctively polished, East Coast spirit. While both brands have flirted with collaboration before, this one feels particularly serendipitous. One part poetic British craftsmanship, one part clean-cut American nostalgia.
