Meet Manasi 7
The Swedish beauty brand putting the microbiome first
Because we're clean! | Aug 28, 2026
Clean beauty has the look down, but what about the clean bit? Swedish brand Manasi 7 strips things back with microbiome-friendly formulas, organic ingredients and a less-but-better philosophy.
Beauty has become very good at looking clean. Barely-there make-up, botanical ingredients, suitably minimal packaging, all while our bathroom cabinets (and faces) remain just as crowded. Swedish beauty brand Manasi 7 has a rather more literal interpretation of the term. Instead of simply making beauty appear stripped back, why not actually strip it back, starting with the ingredients themselves?
Founded in 2018 by make-up artist and cosmetic product developer Susanne Manasi, the brand grew out of more than 20 years working within beauty, alongside her personal interest in healthy living and, in particular, gut health. It was this that eventually led Manasi 7 to look towards another ecosystem: the skin microbiome.
We have become increasingly accustomed to discussing the microbiome in relation to what we eat and how our gut might manifest itself externally. But our skin has a microbiome of its own, and Manasi 7’s approach is built around working with, rather than unnecessarily disrupting, that delicate ecosystem. Its formulas combine high-performance colour with a high percentage of certified organic ingredients and are designed to be microbiome-friendly, an approach the brand positions as going “beyond clean beauty”.
That philosophy extends to how much we’re using, too. Products are concentrated and multifunctional: All Over Colour travels between lips, cheeks and eyes, while its Bronzelighter does exactly what its portmanteau suggests. One product doing the work of three suddenly makes a rather convincing case for a lighter make-up bag.
Then there is Microbioskin, the brand’s dedicated skincare collection, spanning botanical oils, balms and cleansers alongside probiotic serum and face and body creams, taking the microbiome thinking that informs its make-up and placing it centre stage.
Underpinning it all is Manasi 7’s “Declaration of 7”, its manifesto governing everything from production to ingredients and environmental responsibility. Because perhaps true clean beauty isn’t about buying a whole new routine that happens to look cleaner. Maybe it’s simply reconsidering how much we need in the first place – and what exactly we’re putting on our skin.
