Paco Rabanne
German jewellery designer, fashion editor and creative consultant Amelie Riech has teamed up with Paco Rabanne to create a limited edition 12-piece collection of jewellery for Paco Lab. She joins Rei Kawakubo and Judy Blame in the ranks of guest designers who have collaborated with the brand's creative laboratory on jewellery collections that re-imagine the iconic brand's flair for the avant garde. Inspired by the Paco Rabanne archives, the sculptural collar necklace, cuffs and rings are all handmade with glass and gold-plated metal and are at once fragile and substantial. "Like Paco, I feel like a 'material' worker or sculptor experimenting with materials and techniques," she says. "With this series, I wanted to create striking and luminous pieces, so I decided to go for glass because it is a very sensual and sexy material; it's translucent, brilliant and very delicate. I have explored new territories in shape, material and technique. My motto for this collection was 'simplicity is the ultimate sophistication' (Leonardo da Vinci), so I have aimed for minimalist design, strong, graphic shapes and a vanguard, elegant and timeless look." Available exclusively at Dover Street Market, prices start from £180.
