We always like to keep an eye on jewellery-themed catwalk collaborations here at Because, so imagine our delight that Paris Fashion Week A/W12 has yielded up not one but two such high profile ventures.

First up came the launch of 'Hussein Chalayan for Palladium Visions', a venture which saw the cerebral British designer work with the International Palladium Board to create two gowns featuring palladium pieces.

That this came hot on the heels of the IPB's involvement with the Rock Vault - London Fashion Week's jewellery showcase which included palladium pieces created by Saint Martins Jewellery students - underpins a drive designed to promote palladium as a fashion forward precious metal to rival the trad trio of gold, silver and platinum.

Our other favourite get together was the love-in between Delfina Delettrez and Kenzo. The Italian jeweller's first foray into ready-to-wear catwalk jewellery resulted in a cute-as-pie collection of resin-covered walnut and fruit jewellery that (almost) had us looking forward to autumn!

After a somewhat meagre turn out for catwalk jewels in London and New York, Milan's delivering the goods, big time. Right now we're crushing on Dolce & Gabbana's ornate earrings, Marni's otherworldly necklaces and Blumarine's hip hop stylings. More please!

It has been said I have weakness for spontaneity. If you text me at 4am asking if I want to fly to Miami I'll probably say yes. Which is why last week I found myself jetting off to Palm Beach for the weekend for a 1 part business conference : 2 parts party trip.

After a corporate-style conference with some of the biggest names in US tech, I hotfooted over to the Delano Hotel and fell down the neon-lit rabbit hole that is Miami Beach. Pastels, brights, embellishment… if you're going to show some skin, Miami Beach is where it's at. So, I throw on a dusty pink dress and some lilac wedges and slowly open by new travelling jewellery box where lo and behold… Lestie Lee sits glistening.

Not the super cute Chinese designer herself you understand, but her delicious, diamond structured bracelets and rings. Chic and perfect for the summer, I stack them up and head out into the humidity for an adventure in America's greatest playground.
