But Kat Maconie has made hunting out the pick of the bunch really rather easy. Her simple black boot in suede, leather and with simple gold details strikes a great balance between an everyday pair and a shoe that you'd save for nights out. The heel too is sturdy enough to keep in mind that no one wants to be picking their way tentatively across icy winter pavements however chic a towering stiletto is.

Kat Maconie launched her label in 2009 after taking night classes at London College of Fashion. She's recently been awarded the British Footwear Design Association Award and designed shoes that have stomped the runway for FELDER FELDER and Irwin & Jordan.
