Sculpted heels from Sergio Rossi provide an instant guarantee of
getting gawped at when you step out in them.
Bound to elicit more than a few stares from
envious shoe lovers these are not your usual stilettos. Sergio
Rossi takes the bright white shoes and twists it into a fluid swirl
edged with black piping.
Sergio Rossi began his career in the 1950s
working alongside his father, a shoemaker in Italy. In the summer
of 1966, Rossi began selling his shoes to shops in Bologna. He
worked closely with Versace and during the 1980s became closely
linked with some of the leading design houses in the fashion
industry, producing shoes for the collections of Dolce 6 Gabbana
(from 1989 to 1999) and Azzedine Alaia.
In 2008 Francesco Russo who
studied at Milan's Marangoni Institute and has designed footwear
under Stefano Pilati at Yves Saint Laurent since 2000 was named
creative director of the label.
