    MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA JEWELLERY

Sonia Loves this… Because this gold-tone brass Maison Martin Margiela jewellery set has the power to add an unusual metallic allure to any ensemble. Elegantly crinkled, they can be worn separately for a subtle glint of gold or together for full impact. A refreshing take on a long necklace, the pendant gives us the whimsical illusion of a tiny chocolate bar that has been dipped in molten gold. All the while the cuff conjures up images of intricately molded armory that has been hand crafted for an Amazonian warrior.

Born in Belgium, Martin Margiela started his own label in 1989 after a short successful career working as a freelance designer for couture fashion houses such as Jean Paul Gaultier. Famous for his avant-garde approach to fashion, Margiela has notably been most interested in the deconstruction of traditional tailoring. He is also known for a somewhat 'unfinished' signature look that consists of visible seams and frayed hems. An honorary member of the Antwerp Six, he attended Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts and was actively part of the revolutionary fashion movement that began to reject that mundane aspects of the luxury fashion industry in the late eighties. Now owned by the Diesel Brand, Martin Margiela is no longer creative director of the company. Never the less the ultramodern design aesthetic that is present in the recent collections, are respectfully derivative of his legacy.

    DANNIJO JEWELLERY

Georgie loves this… Because this glorious assortment of Dannijo jewellery shows us that diamonds, even if they are in Swarovski crystal form, are still a girl's best friend. The Omala antique gold- plated necklace glitters impressively on the collarbone, its multi coloured crystals dancing in the soft, romantic light. The Shai chain-covered cuff channels a touch of gothic chic with its dark midnight crystals while the Aurora crystal and silver bracelet oozes glamour with its chunky chain and sparkly centre. The Coco crystal embellished cocktail rings in gold and silver are always the perfect additions to evening attire as they provide an excellent talking point.

Who ever said less is more has obviously not seen this opulent collection of jewellery. Also seen here are three medieval style Gurhan spotted bangles in oxidised silver and gold, pearl and red topaz. Kara Ross provides an interesting twist to the usual cuff with her exquisite stingray and Hematite stone piece. The additional rings by Delphine Charlotte Parmentier and Sahani make a relevant and contemporary statement while the Jayce Wong and Holly Fulton rings remain classically beautiful. Matthew Williamson's decadent gold Pyramid belt tops of this sumptuous ensemble with its pink and silver chrystal studs and black silk lining.

Dannijo jewellery is the brainchild of sisters Danielle and Jodie Snyder, an American based design duo. Handmade to the highest scope their pieces stand out from the crowd as their innovative use of diverse materials create interesting and yet timeless pieces. After opening a small boutique in Jacksonville they both decided to move to New York to try and further their designing career. Their first collection in 2007 solely benefited the non-profit African organisation LWALA and also proved to be a huge success. Following on from this their brand has become a household favourite with high-end boutiques and department stores stocking their collections worldwide.

    Lulu Guinness lips

Georgie loves this… Because this vibrant collection of Lulu Guinness lip bags are positively mouth watering. With such a sumptuous array of clutches to choose from a girl could be forgiven for feeling a little overwhelmed. A choice from the Swarovski collection instantly provides a glamorous sparkle to any outfit, its delicately placed crystals glittering wildly in any form of light. Another Luxurious option is the Snakeskin clutch, available in an exciting array of colours they add an opulent evening effect. If a more patriotic accessory is right up your street why not go for the Union Jack Snakeskin or the Stars and Stripes Snakeskin Lips, perfect for either side of the pond. When looking for something different the black studded Lips are just the right thing for a girl that prefers a little edge while the delicious range of Perspex Lips are great for anyone who enjoys a pop of colour.

Lulu Jane Guinness started her eponymous accessories brand in 1989. Relatively self taught she was intent on creating a innovative and visually exciting design company. Her label has become a household name and can be credited with producing a number of Iconic bags such as the famous Lips clutches and Rose Baskets. She has successfully gained recognition within the fashion industry by remaining true to her quintessentially English aesthetic while injecting a subtle sense of humour into her designs. No stranger to awards in 2006 she was presented with an OBE in honour of her contribution to the British fashion industry and in 2009 she received the ICONOCLAST Lifetime Achievement Award for Handbag Design.
