    TOMTOM'S SPIN RIGHT ROUND EARRINGS

Sonia loves these… because the distinctive design of TomTom's Spin Right Round earrings is a great contemporary take on eighties symmetry and geometry influenced by the splendour of Art Deco. Aptly named after eighties classic 'Spin Right Round (like a record)' by Dead or Alive, these earrings are part of TomTom's affordable 'Shape Shape It Up', spring/summer 2010 collection, inspired by 'synths and symmetries'. Their striking design and clever choice of materials makes this pair of versatile earrings an investment piece you will love and cherish. The delicate frame of these 1 inch long beauties is plated with 18k gold and wrapped around polished square black Swarovski crystals.

TomTom is a relatively new brand founded in 2008 by Angeleno architect and designer Elena Coleman, now based in New York. Coleman's Master of Architecture qualification is apparent in her designs as her unique pieces show a love for geometry, construction and interchanging materials while making use of expert manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing and water/ laser jet cutting. Her design style is continuously evolving, as her latest line is full of heavily stylized and edgy designs that have left us craving more.

For those non-gold lovers among us, these TomTom earrings also come in plated oxidised silver with clear crystals or plated gunmetal with gold crystals. Whether a fervent admirer of the iconic eighties or roaring twenties these statement earrings can be teamed with many outfits and will make anyone spin right round…

    AURELIE BIDERMANN BLACK CUFF

Sonia loves this… because this hand-made lace cuff by Aurélie Bidermann is a rare piece to own. Working with vintage lace that has been immersed in black gold, Bidermann preserves both the fabric and its history to create a new and truly unique piece of design.

Reflecting on her passion for jewellery, Bidermann remembers, "When I was a teenager I was called the Christmas tree because I wore such big jewellery". Today, her taste has been refined and she approaches her work with unique style and craftsmanship. She trained in gemology and has a MA in history of art, both of which have influenced her desire to work with rare objects, such as: swan feathers and vintage lace.

It was only in 2003 when Bindermann launched her jewellery line to the public and a year later her work was stocked in concept-store Colette in Paris. This particular lace cuff embodies her French roots, whilst the rest of her spring/summer 2010 collection reflects her love of travel. Tuscany has inspired gold and silver wheat pendants, whilst her time in Ibiza has influenced delicate cotton plait bracelets within this collection.

    JUICY COUTURE DYNASTY RING

Sonia loves this… because bigger is sometimes better, and this 14- karat gold-plated brass cocktail ring adds a touch of decadence to any ensemble. Its unusual geometric design is alluring with an embellished crystal dome set into a chucky geometric base turns the conventions of the diamond ring aesthetic inside out, or rather outside in. As a piece of costume jewellery it is bold and unconventional whilst remaining wearable, providing a little luxury and sophistication to casual daywear or adding to the glamour of eveningwear.

Founded by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor (spouse of Duran Duran's John Taylor) in 1995 the Juicy Couture quickly rose to fame with their iconic velour tracksuit. After sending out personalised sportswear to many high profile women such as Madonna their label soon became associated with celebrities. The designing duo both started their company with an ethos that their clothing would be both luxury and yet more affordable for the average women and continue to diversify their range.
