TomTom is a relatively new brand founded in 2008 by Angeleno architect and designer Elena Coleman, now based in New York. Sonia loves this… because this hand-made lace cuff by Aurélie Bidermann is a rare piece to own. Working with vintage lace that has been immersed in black gold, Bidermann preserves both the fabric and its history to create a new and truly unique piece of design.

Reflecting on her passion for jewellery, Bidermann remembers, "When I was a teenager I was called the Christmas tree because I wore such big jewellery". Today, her taste has been refined and she approaches her work with unique style and craftsmanship. She trained in gemology and has a MA in history of art, both of which have influenced her desire to work with rare objects, such as: swan feathers and vintage lace.

It was only in 2003 when Bindermann launched her jewellery line to the public and a year later her work was stocked in concept-store Colette in Paris. This particular lace cuff embodies her French roots, whilst the rest of her spring/summer 2010 collection reflects her love of travel. Tuscany has inspired gold and silver wheat pendants, whilst her time in Ibiza has influenced delicate cotton plait bracelets within this collection.
